Full HD TVs

Full HD (1080p) is fine for smaller TVs under 43 inches and for bedrooms, kitchens or caravans. On larger screens or for close viewing, 4K Ultra HD gives a noticeably sharper picture and is now similarly priced in mid-size sets.

Full HD works best up to about 40-43 inches. Beyond that the individual pixels become easier to see at normal viewing distances, so a 4K panel is a better choice for 50 inches and above.

Full HD sets are usually the cheapest option, especially in small sizes, making them great value for secondary rooms. In larger sizes the price gap with 4K has narrowed, so compare our price-per-megapixel table to see which offers better value.
