OLED vs QLED: which TV panel is better?

For picture quality in a controlled-light room, OLED usually wins — perfect blacks, per-pixel contrast and superb viewing angles. QLED counters with much higher brightness (better in bright rooms) and often lower prices. Neither is universally 'better'; it depends on your room and budget.

OLED pixels emit their own light and can switch off completely for true blacks. QLED is an LED/LCD TV with a quantum-dot layer for brighter, more vivid colour, but it relies on a backlight so blacks aren't as deep. OLED excels at contrast; QLED excels at brightness and value.

Modern OLEDs include strong protections (pixel shifting, logo dimming) and burn-in is rare with normal, varied viewing. If you display static content (news tickers, game HUDs) for many hours daily, QLED avoids the risk entirely.

Generally yes. QLED sets are usually more affordable at the same size, which is why they dominate the value and mid-range market. OLED prices have fallen but still command a premium for their contrast.
