Yes for screens 50 inches and larger, where the extra pixels are clearly visible and most streaming and broadcast content is now available in 4K. Ultra HD sets have roughly four times the resolution of Full HD, giving a sharper, more detailed picture.
4K (2160p) has about 8.3 million pixels; 8K (4320p) has around 33 million. 8K sets are far more expensive and native 8K content is rare, so 4K remains the best-value choice for almost all buyers in 2026.
To stream in 4K most services recommend around 25 Mbps. Slower connections still work but may drop to Full HD. For gaming in 4K you also want an HDMI 2.1 port and a console or PC that outputs 4K.
